Free State Plan
Our initial plan is to start small and build a foundation for principled moderation, beginning where change is both possible and urgent: the Kansas House of Representatives.
There are 125 House districts in Kansas, each with about 15,000 voters. If we flip just five Republican-held seats in 2026, we end their supermajority.
In 2024, 40 percent of House races went uncontested. That’s not democracy. That’s a system protecting itself. We’re not spoilers when the two parties can’t even be bothered to run against each other. What we see isn’t a spoiler movement. It’s an opening.

Build a New Party for Moderates
We’re launching The Free State Party, built for moderate Kansans tired of partisan extremes and one-party rule.

Our petition drive will formally qualify the party for state and local races in 2026.

Offer a Clear, Principled Platform
Not vague middle-ground mush. We’ve drafted a platform rooted in Kansas values: liberty balanced with fairness, community, responsibility, and fiscal discipline. It’s moderation with a backbone.

Compete Where No One Else Will
We’ll focus on Kansas House districts where incumbents ran unopposed in the last general election and consider statewide and national races where voters lack a real choice.

Our immediate goal: flip five Republican-held seats to deny the GOP its supermajority and restore balance in Topeka.
